Hello Muggles!!!
If this is your first time reading this blog and you didn't find out about this blog because you actually know me, I recently got MARRIED!!!!!!!
That's right!!! There is now a Mr. Muggle Makeup Geek. :)
One thing that is for certain about every wedding... at least one thing is going to go wrong. If any of my muggle followers are getting married, I wish you the best and I wish for you that NOTHING GOES WRONG!!! In the case of our wedding, several things went wrong; one of which, my makeup Guru couldn't get the day off of work and she was supposed to be doing my makeup!!!
Not to panic, I am Mrs. Muggle Makeup Geek after all... I did my makeup myself.
The one thing that Mr Muggle Makeup Geek and I really wanted to ring true at our wedding was our uniqueness and who we really were; so I didn't really want someone doing my makeup anyway, it's just one of those things that you do. So while, I would have loved my makeup Guru doing my makeup, I wasn't heartbroken to be doing it myself.
So I am doing this special blog that includes ALL of the products that I used that day.
So get ready there are 7 products that I am going to talk about!!!
Ok so, first things first: Eyeliner!
I used BADgal Waterproof Liner
I am not a big fan of pencils. Mostly because that means that I need to bring a sharpener with me if I want to use it, but the woman that I spoke with at Sephora told me that it was the best waterproof liner.
...if that's the case, I am sad for the state of waterproof liners.
Because it said that it was waterproof, I figured that it was something that I could apply to my water line. It does work but you have to put at least 3 layers on for it to take. Also, it was not very long lasting. Normally with waterproof anything you need to pretty much use bleach on your face to get it off.
((SARCASM!!! DO NOT PUT BLEACH ON YOUR FACE))
So, it works but not like it should. I was pretty disappointed that I spent $20+ on it, but hey... you only get married once.
Next: Sephora Colorful Shimmer: Speed Dating
I put this in the crease of my eyes.
I will say this about Sephora, you may go in there for more expensive makeup, but their product line is half the price as almost anything else in their store and it's pretty awesome! My eye shadow stayed on all day and I put it on at around 12pm and we were up until 2am.
Next: Sephora Colorful Shimmer: Sweet Candy
I put this color over my entire lid, blending it into the Speed Dating.
Next: Sephora Colorful Glitter: What Happens In Vegas
...again I put this color over the entire lid, blending it into the Speed Dating and Sweet Candy. Because it's a glitter, it didn't hold much color and was more for just some added sparkle.
After all that was finished, I used the BADgal waterproof eyeliner for my line.
((You're going to want to sharpen your liner after you use it for the waterline to get a better line than I did the other day.))
Next: BADgal Lash Waterproof Mascara
I really like the applicator that BADgal lash uses, but their products are very much not my favorites. Again, I spent $20+ dollars on a "waterproof" mascara that I ended up with on my face during our first dance. I have a $2 Wet and Wild mascara that I bought a few months ago that is better.
Lips!!!
Ok, so sinceeeee it was for my wedding day, I splurged and got Mac lipstick and liner. Mac has an excellent product so it's fair of them to charge what they do, I just can't always afford it. HAHA!
Mac Lip Liner Pencil: Soar
Just like eyeliner, I am not a huge fan of the lip liner pencil, simply because I am lazy and I don't like to constantly sharpen my makeup every single time I need to use it. Also, because my allergies, I keep my makeup with me in case I need to reapply when I am out and carrying around a sharpener and worrying about makeup shavings in my purse.... I just can't. LOL!
As I said, Mac has an excellent product. While my lipstick naturally wore off after hours of wear and eating and such, my liner stayed on the entire time until I decided to wipe it off.
Mac Satin Lipstick: Brave
Because this is a cream based product, it did wear off after a few hours and needed to be reapplied once, but that is to be expected. I just loved this color and needed it! HAHA.
So there you have it! My entire wedding day look! I wanted something that was very me. I feel that so many women go over the top and do outlandish makeup for their special day to the point that they don't look like them anymore. When you see their wedding pictures you're like "THAT'S YOU?!?!??!" I didn't want that kind of reaction.
We had an awesome day. I hope you enjoyed this special post of my wedding makeup. As always, I will post purchase links at the bottom.
I would recommend all of these products, except for the BADgal Lash Eyeliner.
